The bridge over the Bourne

The wooden footbridge over the Bourne beside Lucas Green Road. The footbridge is on footpath 123, a curiosity of a path that runs about four feet from the road for a total length of 135 metres. There are official marker posts at either end where it diverts from the road. As the path goes from nowhere to nowhere one wonders how it came to exist.
