Opened in 1859 with both the London & South Western Railway and London Brighton & South Coast Railways serving it as part of a network of lines which still exist. The joint station was rebuilt in 1929. View north east towards Wimbledon (left) and Sutton (right). See Image] for a similar view from 23 years earlier. The 1929 signal box shown in that image was demolished in 1992.
