The Western Power Distribution substation is set back from the south side of Penrhiwceiber Road, alongside Carmel chapel. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3839015 Its identifier is Belle Vue Mountain Ash S/S No 55-2202. A red warning notice on the substation states that remote control actuators are fitted to 11Kv switchgear - contact Control before entry.
