Adonia is the smallest in the P&O fleet and, because of this, can navigate the Solent via the West Channel rather than taking the much longer East Channel and sailing around the Isle of Wight. It also means that regular Cruisers see some different sights and some superb views of The Needles. Egypt Point, on the Esplanade, is the most northerly point on the Isle of Wight, and affords some superb views across the Solent … and was promoted by the West Cowes Local Board of Health in 1894
