The most prominent building overlooking the foreshore on the left is the East Beach Cafe, whilst on the clifftop the white building with the conical towers is the *East Cliff Hotel. The large building in the centre is the Marsham Court Hotel, and to the right of that also with conical turrets is East Cliff Hall, more commonly known as the Russell Cotes Museum. The same view nearly fifty years on: Image *The East Cliff Hotel's name is on its building, and therefore seems to have been independent of the Royal Bath Hotel at that time despite sharing common grounds. By 1979 however when it was almost totally destroyed in a fire, it had already become the east wing of the Royal Bath, with that hotel's name on its frontage.
