Opened in 1892 by the Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway on what became the main line from London Marylebone to Sheffield Victoria, this station closed to passengers in 1963. View north towards Beighton and Sheffield, about two years after the station building (on the right) had mostly been destroyed by fire.
