This Elizabeth II-reign postbox stands outside the former location of London Road Post Office and is painted gold in honour of Paralympian equestrian Sophie Christiansen, who won a gold medal at the London 2012 games. Attached to the box is an old stamp vending machine. (See Image for a close-up of the plaque.) During 2013, the post office branch here closed and was replaced by one round the corner, in Chobham Road although the branch is still named London Road.
