Caer Eithin Engine House for Berthlwyd Colliery

This Grade II listed building is thought to be an engine house used to partially raise coal from local seams so that it could then be transferred underground to the existing Berthlwyd Colliery ( located at about SS561960 ) which had its own link to the railway. There are no obvious signs of coal being processed or extracted at this site. The landscape seems otherwise unaffected. See also Image Referenc IDs: Swansea LB431, CADW 23484
