View towards the Middlewich branch of the Shropshire Union Canal from the point of closest approach to Stokehall Lane, just east of Image (there is no public access to the canal here). At this point, west of Cholmondeston Lock (in Image), the canal runs along a low embankment. The moored boats here are a mixture of traditional narrowboats & smaller fibreglass pleasure craft; the latter are rarely seen on the nearby Llangollen branch
