The line of pylons adds a touch of brutalism to the Thornhill estate, south of Dewsbury in Calderdale. Carrying the megawattage of the Aire and Calder power stations inexorably into industrial West Yorkshire, the effects of living under so much electromagnetic radiation has not been studied here.
