Image: © John Stephen Taken: 14 Aug 2013

18C/19C Listed detached house where Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy lived here till his marriage in 1807. The road sign indicates the way to his monument on Black Down hill above the village. The B3175 coast road comes from Weymouth and Chickerell behind the camera as Bramdon Lane and swings left as Goose Hill carrying on to Abbotsbury, Swyre, Burton Bradstock and Bridport. The metal figure by the sign is a relic of the decorations for the passage of the Olympic Flame on 12 July 2012 and represents a torchbearer.
