The station buildings, signs and lights look decidedly care worn in this view from 1976. The booking hall which spanned the fast lines was demolished leaving only its steel floor area in place as this formed part of the bridge structure. The electrification of the Kings Cross suburban services had been underway since 1973 and the wires are up but the juice hadn't been turned on yet - it was finally completed in 1978.
