One of a pair of curved railway hotels greeting travellers alighting at the station (with Image]). In both, the centre is stressed by a pair of giant Ionic columns. The architect may have been Henry Goodridge. Built c1840. Grade II listed. The hotel survives in name only, in the frieze.
