Class 20's and a Class 31 stand between the refuelling towers on the depot. Beyond, the tracks of the Barnetby to Scunthorpe line pass some industrial buildings associated with the steel works. The Class 20 in the centre of the photo is 20028. The hint of red on the buffer beam tells that this locomotive is still wearing British Railways green livery rather than corporate blue - though you would be hard pressed to tell under all the industrial grime. It is a tribute to the reliability of the Class 20's that it must be at least 11 years since this locomotive had been to Derby Works for a major overhaul!
