The bridge carries the Cumbernauld to Motherwell railway line between Greenfaulds and Coatbridge Central railway stations. It also carries the Cumbernauld line between Greenfaulds and Gartcosh railway stations. The road under the bridge is the B804 leading to Gartcosh.
