The inner driveway entrance/exit, looking towards the main Castleton-Hope road. The surrounding fields, including these grounds, belonged to a religious order who ran a nearby leper hospital (The Hospital of Saint Mary in the Peak). The hospital was reputedly founded - on the opposite side of the A6187 to the main gates of Losehill Hall - by the wife of one of the William Peverels c.1153 and continued its work until the “Dissolution of the Monasteries” between 1536-1541.
