Close up of galleting in a wall in Buckland Road - this section is just beyond the ivy seen in the photo in Image The pieces of ironstone pushed into the mortar between the stones of Reigate Stone can clearly be seen. Also noticeable is the flaky nature of Reigate Stone, which whilst excellent for internal work, is subject to extreme weathering when used in walls or other external work.
