Flood lagoon, Stourport-on-Severn

This lagoon between the River Severn and Britannia Gardens was constructed as a flood defence measure. The river is very prone to flooding and the lagoon takes surplus water from the river at such times, to avoid flooding of Britannia Gardens and neighbouring roads. So far it seems to have been effective.
