Allbrook: South Western Main Line railway bridge

The railway was built through here in 1839, over what is now the B3335 Highbridge Road. Interestingly, and despite the fact that the road leads to Highbridge, since Peter took his Image in October 2012, the height restriction under the bridge has been reduced from the 4.0 metres / 13' 0" seen in Peter's photograph to the 3.7 metres / 12' 1" seen in this one. Although Peter's photo is of the other side of the bridge, and might indicate different clearances for different carriageways, the photographer can confirm that the restriction is now 3.7 metres / 12' 1" on the other side too!
