Opened in 1880 on the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway's "Oldham Loop" line from Manchester to Rochdale, this station closed to 'heavy' rail traffic in 2009. It was rebuilt and reopened in 2012 as part of Metrolink. View north east towards Failsworth and Oldham after conversion. Metrolink uses the right hand track only, the left-hand line is for freight trains.
