Together with the adjacent retort house (Image]) - a gable of another is in the background - more relics of the former gas works. The engine house and its chimney date from c1840 and were built for Bristol and Clifton Oil Gas Company. Grade II listed. The site is slowly being redeveloped so, if they haven't already, flats and bars will soon be springing up here.
