From Hill Lane opposite the Raymond Road junction. This entrance is into the SW corner of Southampton Common, a large open space north of the city centre, supporting a wide variety of wildlife. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. An electricity substation http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3790768 is on the right.
