Wath Central railway station (site), Yorkshire

Opened in 1851 on the South Yorkshire Railway's line from Barnsley to Doncaster, this station closed to passengers in 1959. View south east along the track bed, across Station Road (which used to cross over the railway on a bridge) towards Mexborough and Doncaster. The goods shed ahead in the only apparently surviving building. There were four tracks to the left of this, with platforms serving just the left-hand two of these. The station building was roughly where the two lorries are standing.
