A late 16th century Country House altered in the mid 17th century and in the 18th century. Replaced an earlier house which was the property of the Knights Templar and Hospitallers and sold to Thomas Dalston at the Dissolution in 1544. It is a Grade I Listed Building. There was evidence of a mill here in the 14th century. The estate was given to National Trust in 1950.
