The chimney at the former Regency Spinning factory Image on the Comber Road. The area behind the fence was the site of the Crepe Weavers factory. To the best of my knowledge both are included in a new scheme for “industrial, leisure and business units; two nursing homes; a 100 bed hotel; a neighbourhood centre to include a crèche/nursery, retail units, a Health Centre and a bank; several hot food outlets; a petrol filling station and 96 residential units” (X/2010/0296/O).
