The former Western Synagogue (Ashkenazi Orthodox), Linnaeus Street, was founded September 1902 and consecrated May 1903, to a design by Benjamin Septimus Jacobs. Due to dwindling congregations, it was closed in 1994. Since 2 April 1995, the community relocated to the Hull Hebrew Congregation, 30 Pryme Street, Anlaby. The redundant building now houses the Linden House Business Centre, access being via No.1 Convent Lane.
