Two days after the biggest tidal surge for 60 years, weekend walkers check out the consequences along the beach, but sea defences have done their job here. What they do not know is that a few hundred metres further down, what the sea failed to achieve on December 5th, the local badgers managed to do the next day: there is a big hole in the sea wall.
