Looking back towards Coldharbour Lane from the lych-gate. Thorpe is for the most part a village of old red brick, and long high walls - though the walls give way here to box hedges. Church Approach is a rather busier place than the image might suggest - serving as a dropping-off and picking-up point for the American School nearby.
