This site has an interesting history … in the 1860s the site of the Crown Brewery, in the 1930s a Lead Pipe Works, and in the 1970s it was the home of Kelvin Scrap & Salvage. Some even say it was the site of the original Sheffield Barracks, backed up by there being a Barrack Lane and a Balaclava Road nearby, but I'm not convinced. However, despite being 'listed' it appears, that nothing remains of the historical buildings … and, after some years of standing empty, it is being developed into affordable housing.
