A London Overground service bound for Richmond and formed of class 378 unit 378207 crosses Churchfield Road as it arrives at Acton Central station. It is disappointing to note that a group of pedestrians including the ladies standing closest to the barrier started running across the tracks as the lights started flashing. Some made it across but a couple of those in the photo turned back shrieking as the barrier on the opposite side started to close and just made it before the nearest barrier started its descent. The risk of getting a heel caught in the track or slipping and falling is obvious. Given recent campaigns run by Network Rail to improve Level Crossing Safety including a number of very frightening near-miss videos you have to wonder what some of these people are thinking!
