The 1930s turbine pumping station had a row of water tube boilers that were usually fed by a motor driven feed pump but also had this very large J P Hall of Peterborough inverted vertical single cylinder non-rotative feed pump. This was a magnificent site that ran until about 1984 and I was practically given the freedom of the site one Saturday.
