During 1985 one side of the river between the 2 town bridges was strengthened with steel sheet piling. In order to gain access the civil engineering contractors had to build a substantial decking in the river to carry 2 cranes. The warehouse nearest the camera is now apartments and the one behind the crane jib has been demolished, see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1504920
