This is on the so-called Preston Brook branch of the Bridgewater Canal, which consisted of about 6 furlongs of canal line southwards from Waters Meeting Junction on the main line, to a point south of the A56 road bridge (Preston Brook Bridge) where an end-on junction was made with the Trent and Mersey Canal.
