The oddly-shaped field with curved boundaries is now surrounded by overgrown and broken hawthorn hedges. As it has public footpaths on two sides from a shared entrance on Newburn Road it has become a de facto park used by local dog walkers. The area is known locally as 'The Crick' as it was once the site of a cricket ground Image
