This is the largest and youngest of the Penmon limestone quarries. It was worked from the 1900s until the late 1980s. Some working of permissable reserves continues, but most of the site has been restored and a fish-breeding factory erected on the eastern part of the site - hence the large green sheds. http://www.carterjonas.co.uk/waste-management/quarry-advice
