I imagine it must concentrate the minds of the Welland and Deeping internal drainage board to have their offices here, a few yards from the threatening River Welland. This body are the successors to the commissioners of Deeping Fen, who erected the drainage engines at Pode Hole (see Image]) They have a web site at http://www.wellandidb.org.uk/
