Opened in 1853 by the Oxford Worcester & Wolverhampton Railway, later part of the Great Western Railway, on the line from Oxford to Worcester. View north east (the line soon swings south east again) towards Charlbury and Oxford. The line had been singled in 1971 but in 2011 was re-doubled with the former southbound platform reinstated, see Image
