Taken in November 1969 as it was getting dark, this photo shows an Eastbourne Corporation Daimler Roadliner single-decker bus with East Lancs 45-seater bodywork in Gildredge Road en route to Meads in the West End of the town. Incidentally, it was on the 12th April 1903, that Eastbourne Corporation was the first municipality anywhere in the world to start running motorbus services and that was between the Railway Station and Meads. Nowadays, Stagecoach East Sussex runs route 3/3A between Terminus Road in the town centre and Meads.
