Firewood seems to be something of an obsession with folk who live in the highlands - which is hardly a surprise given the severity of the winters and the availability of timber - often available free to those with a chainsaw after gales have brought down trees and branches. This pile looks like a more systematic collection of sawn up chunks of pretty large timber waiting to be chopped and stored somewhere drier.
