One of the most over-scaled and inappropriate buildings in Altrincham (?) The runner-up would be (in my view) the overbearing 'Station House' - opposite the Metro terminus. Unhappily, neither is ever likely to be pulled down now, despite the improvement plans of 'Altrincham Forward'. One would have thought that the local planning department would have learned from these unfortunate examples, but, no, the faceless shops and apartments on Railway Street still got the go ahead! Can we not do better in an historic market town?
