Situated adjacent to a children's play area is this information boards detailing the history of RAF Skellingthorpe. Of significant note, F/O Leslie Manser a Pilot in 50 Sqn won a posthumous Victoria Cross flying from this airfield. He was the only RAF pilot to win the award flying an Avro Manchester bomber - the aircraft that proceeded the legendary Lancaster
