Totnes Museum is housed in a medieval house; like many in the town, it occupies a burgage plot, between stone walls, such as that on the right. The house retains its medieval layout with one block facing the street, then a courtyard, a second block with the kitchen, and a garden/courtyard at the rear. This is the view through the kitchen window looking into the courtyard.
