View SE over a level-crossing on a side-road: ex-Midland Leicester - Burton-on-Trent line. The station was closed 7/9/64 when the passenger services ceased, but the line is still used for through freight and slated for reopening to passengers as the Ivanhoe Line. (The notices not only required telephone permission to open the gates but also a fine of £1,000 for failure to close them, yet I did not seek to open them and cross - and a freight train rushed through. No other vehicle was around and the gates seemed to be permanently open!).
