This road was at some time in days gone by a road available for suitable traffic. There is still a 'National speed limit applies' sign at the start of the road. Bollards, however, prevent any vehicles attempting this road. Only some cars could manage the bridge, which is both very narrow and has an awkward bend after the bridge. The bridge spans Kittoch Water, a tributary of the White Cart Water.
