Fleetwood 175 Monument

This stone was unveiled in September 2012 in recognition of the town's 175th anniversary in 2011, see http://www.visitfleetwood.info/about/history/fleetwood-175-monument.php . It stands on the site of an old wishing well, on the esplanade by the links, across the road from the Mount public house. Beneath the town's crest - with the motto 'Onward', the wording is: "Fleetwood A Town with a Heart Commemorating 175 Years in 2011 Founded 1836 a celebrated past a dynamic present an inspiring future Unveiled on the 7th September 2012 by Doreen Lofthouse OBE Honorary President of Fleetwood Civic Society Margaret Lund MBE Chair of Fleetwood 175 Group Margaret Daniels Chair of Fleetwood Civic Society"
