Dunsden Green village well has been covered over and this flower bed put on top. As far as I know, the well is still intact under a slab beneath the plants. The remains of the winding gear have been displayed on a convincing looking stand just visible beyond the tree, but that's all it is, just a showpiece. The Environment Agency have water level data from this well as it was used for groundwater monitoring for many years before it got covered up.
