This short piece of highway turns into Fielding Lane as it passes under the railway bridge and becomes a footpath and cycleway. The lane goes through a newish housing estate, and then becomes highway again as Fielding Lane at Image, turning then into Hillfield Road and terminating at the junction with Libbards Way at Image Hillfield Road was a through road before the housing estate was built. The railway bridge is certainly wide enough to accommodate two-way traffic. Fielding was the name of the family who for some time occupied the nearby Hillfield Hall, see Image
