This view across fields shows the route (follow the line of the hedge on the right) of a spur from the colliery at Pilsley (ahead) to the Midland main line. In the fields here there used to be an embankment rising to a bridge (immediately behind the viewpoint) that crossed Image Today, the remaining section of embankment (behind the viewpoint) has been graded and protected by Image to provide work crews vehicular access to the main line.
