After leaving its passengers at Droylsden Tram Stop, Metrolink tram 3001 displays the "Tram on Test" sign for the remainder of its journey towards Ashton. This is because it was carrying out line testing and driver familiarisation on the new extension to the route (which opened to the public two days later on 9th October http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/metrolink-tram-service-launches-ashton-under-lyne-6161044 "Metrolink tram service launches from Ashton-Under-Lyne" - Manchester Evening News)
