View westward, towards Lancaster: ex-Midland (Skipton etc.) - Wennington - Lancaster - Morecambe - Heysham secondary main line. The station was closed 16/9/57 (goods 20/4/64) and even the whole line Wennington - Lancaster (Green Ayre) - Morecambe was closed entirely 3/1/66, leaving a route round via Carnforth as access from Yorkshire to Morecambe and Heysham. Here in 1998 the route is barely recognisable and a modern house has been built where the station was once. The view is south of the village and down the Lune Valley with Crag Lot (1,529 ft.) over on the right.
